Feeling guilty?

Feeling guilty about something?

Feeling guilty about something? Maybe it is just a niggling feeling or is it a deep gnawing feeling, eating away at you?

If it does not dissipate over time, it can cause serious problems, including health issues, lack of confidence, loss of self-worth, stress, etc., which in turn can be harmful to your career, work or business and your health, wealth and relationships.

Guilt, of course is just a message from your own conscious mind. Letting you know that you have violated one of your values.

One way to tackle low-level guilt is to grab a sheet of paper and write ‘I feel bad because… ‘ and then explain what you have done to cause yourself to feel bad. Then examine why are you feeling bad about it and which values have been violated.

Finally, summarise the lesson that you had learnt from it, thank your unconscious mind for the message as you choose to let this emotion go.

A more powerful way of letting this emotion go is to use the techniques I describe in my little book. ‘Feeling Good When Things Go Bad – How To Quickly & Easily Dissolve Your Negative Emotions’.

Of course, it’s very important to try and rectify the ‘harm’ that your actions have caused, if possible, which that might include apologising to anyone affected by your possibly wrongful actions.

On the other hand, if nothing can be done, it is equally important to take on board the lesson that this feeling is offering you to and to forgive yourself for your error.

Deeper guilt and regret maybe more difficult to deal with because of unconscious programming that you’ve taken on as a child, and so this is better dealt with in a one-on-one session.

If guilt & regret is a problem for you, let’s chat.
