It’s easy to become so used to feeling anxious that you come to regard it as a ‘steady state’, or your normal way of being.
When this happens, it’s common to simply ignore the feeling or emotion and just press on. The problem with doing this is that you are missing out on the message that your anxiety is trying to give you.
That is because all our emotions and feelings arise from our unconscious mind trying to help navigate us safely through life. And so they always contained a message.
By stopping to acknowledge the emotion or feeling of anxiety and seeking to understand the message behind it, you can often reduce its intensity and it becomes much easier to let it go.
So, it can be very helpful to regularly take note of your emotions and feelings as you go through the day and look for the messages that they contain.
Of course, some people become so persistently anxious that it becomes a habit, and any messages can be lost in the same way that messages are lost from an alarm that is sounding persistently.
If this is the case, the anxiety can be a symptom of some underlying root cause, which can be best dealt with through one-on-one therapeutic coaching.
So, if your INNER STRUGGLES are getting you down, maybe we should have a chat.
