How to start accepting yourself, fully

How to start accepting yourself, fully

Are you one of those people who struggle to fully accept yourself? Do you find it hard to embrace all the good things about you along with your natural flaws and weaknesses? If so, you’re not alone. Many people experience this, and it’s totally normal to feel that way. But the good news is, there are ways to overcome this and learn to love yourself for who you truly are.

Firstly, it’s essential to understand that nobody is perfect. Every single person has their unique strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. Even the most successful and accomplished individuals have their share of flaws and struggles. It’s what makes us human, and it’s what makes us unique.

Next, try to shift your perspective towards your flaws and weaknesses. Instead of seeing them as something to be ashamed of, view them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement. Think about how you can work on them and become a better version of yourself. You can’t change your natural flaws, but you can work on them to make them less significant and manageable.

Another essential aspect of self-acceptance is self-care. Taking care of your physical and mental health can significantly impact your self-esteem and confidence. Eating healthy, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and practicing mindfulness and meditation can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your skin.

It’s also helpful to surround yourself with positive influences. Spend time with people who appreciate and accept you for who you are. Surround yourself with friends and family who uplift you and support you and distance yourself from those who bring you down.

Finally, practice self-compassion. Be kind and gentle with yourself, just as you would be with a friend. Don’t beat yourself up over your flaws and mistakes. Instead, acknowledge them and use them as opportunities for growth.

In conclusion, learning to accept yourself fully can be a challenging journey, but it’s an essential one. Remember that you’re unique, flaws and all, and that’s what makes you special. Shift your perspective towards your flaws, practice self-care, surround yourself with positive influences, and practice self-compassion. These are all important steps towards self-acceptance and learning to love yourself for who you are.

Of course, it’s quite possible that unconscious early childhood programming is running in such a way that it saps you of your self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence.

Because it is unconscious, it’s pretty hard for you to work on it yourself, and so if you would like some help that, maybe we should chat.
